Natural Products For a Healthy Lifestyle

Did you know that our lives are surrounded by too many chemicals and toxins? If you don't want chemicals on your food, definitely we wouldn't want chemicals in our home either!

When we reduce chemical exposure in our home, it improves our gut health and immunity, reduces inflammation in our body, improves our energy, and other studies show, it can also decrease our risk of developing cancers.

Pretty amazing, right? But how do we start living with natural products to improve our lifestyle?

  • Eat organic

Organic food is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, chemical pesticides, and insecticides, growth hormones, or antibiotics. Many stores offer organic and affordable produce. Is it worth it to pay a little more? I think so.

  • Replace your cooking oils

Omit the use of highly processed oils that contribute to inflammation, heart disease, and become toxic at low temperatures. These are canola, vegetable, peanut, or soybean oils.

Use avocado oil, coconut oil, or ghee. These oils use a lesser process but have a higher smoke point. Avocado oil is a good choice. It does not contain any flavor and can be replaced with anything.

  • Upgrade your tupperware

We all know that plastics contain chemicals. These chemicals can leach into our food and water. BPA can cause problems in our reproductive, developmental, and metabolic systems.

Use containers and water bottles made out of non-leaching materials like glass, stainless steel, ceramic, or bamboo.

  • Keep pesticides out

Let's keep in mind that chemicals can easily be tracked inside the house. We are all exposed to these chemicals by inhaling the residue, and then track it through our homes through our shoes. These pesticides can stay in our carpets for up to 1 year!

  • Clean your cleaning products

We don't realize this but sometimes the very products that are supposed to clean our house are, as a matter of fact, making it dirty. They are the ones that spread health-impacting chemicals on the surfaces and fumes to the air we breathe. Consider switching your conventional cleanings products, including all-purpose sprays, glass cleaners, furniture polish, dish soaps, floor cleaners and disinfectants. Replace them with non-toxic products or make a DIY cleaner with simple ingredients like vinegar or baking soda.

  • Use non-toxc beauty/skin products

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It is important to be aware of what is being absorbed into it.

When we think of all the products you put in your skin including moisturizers, sunscreens and soaps, to body wash, deodorant, serums and scubs, amny of those contain chemicals like parabens and phthalates, or known carcinogens and neurotoxins.

Instead of conventional store-bought beauty products, try using natural oils like jojoba, rosehip or coconut, which make excellent cleansers and moisturizers. Or opt for non-toxic products that are commercially available.

  • Remove artificial fragrances

Who does not want a nice-smelling home and body? But air refreshers, room sprays, plug-in scents, scented candles, and body perfumes can be full of chemicals ranging from formaldehyde to phthalates and ethanol.

Remove toxic scents and use essential oils instead, fresh flowers, DIY baking soda freshener or other non-toxic plant-based product
